Mobile Weigh Bridge
Our weigh bridge is completely portable and therefore we can bring it to you, all we need is a large flat level area the is either made from concrete or bitumen/asphalt. The scales/pads are then driven onto so that all wheels of each vehicle are weighed at the same time. We also measure the caravan ball weight with the tow ball scale.
Caravan and Vehicle Weight
We look at the gross combined mass (GCM), this is the weight of both the car and the caravan as one unit. It is important to remember that the tow ball weight is only counted once.
Vehicle / Car Weight
We weigh the car twice, in the first instance we look at the car with the caravan in combination (GVM-C), i.e. – the weight of the car with the caravan connected and then weight of the car without the caravan or the Gross Combined Mass (GCM). We also check the axle weight limits.
Caravan / Trailer Weight
Again, we measure each individual wheel and the tow ball weight. This allows us to provide front and rear axle weights and the total weight, or Aggregate Trailer Mass (ATM).
What else can we weigh?
If it fits on the scales, it can be weighed. Some examples are but not limited to –
• Animals – weighed in a trailer and then removed, ie: livestock/horses
• People – Sports teams can be weighed up to 4 a time, with a docket printed with the results.
• Furniture – Do you need to know whether the floor can take the weight of that piano or pool table? They can be weighed too!
Weigh Bridge Dockets – Vic Roads
If you need to register a trailer/caravan for the first time or re-register an old one, Vic roads will require a weigh bridge docket. Because we come to you, you will no longer need to obtain an unregistered vehicle permit to visit a weigh bridge.
Weigh Bridge Dockets – Vass Engineers
If you are doing up or modifying a vehicle the VASS engineer will most likely require a weigh bridge docket to sign off on their calculations.
